In the mood of the celebration of the Father’s Day, Nigerians have hailed the men of the Nigerian Armed Forces for the sacrifices they made in battlefield in order to protect the territorial integrity of the country.

Many took to the social media to hail the men, especially in the face of insurgency and terrorism which the country has faced in recent years.

“Happy Father’s Day to the strong Men and women that Bleed for our dear country in the Battlefield,” was a popular post on the Twitter handle of Nigerian Army (@HQNigerianArmy) and other Nigerians

Father’s Day is a celebration honoring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society.

Many countries celebrate it on the third Sunday of June, though it is also celebrated widely on other days by many other countries.

Father’s Day was inaugurated in the United States in the early 20th century to complement Mother’s Day in celebrating fathers and male parenting.
