Guide against vandalization of projects, DESOPADEC tells communities

ASABA—COMMISSIONER representing Ethiope East and Ughelli North Local Government Areas on the board of the Delta State Oil Producing Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Chief Ominimini Obiuvwevbi has charged benefitting communities to guide against vandalization of projects executed by the commission in their domain.

Giving the charge while commissioning a solar powered water scheme at Kokori community, Ethiope East Local Government Area of the state, Obiuwevbi advised the commu- nities to make judicious use of the facilities to better their lots.

Other projects commissioned were a six classroom block at Ekrerhavwe Secondary School as well as an eight classroom block and fencing at Oghara – Agbarha Primary School, Ughelli North Local Government Area.

On the furniture also provided by the commission for the schools, he said, “I know benches, tables and chairs will be the next problem of the schools, hence, I got the approval of DESOPADEC to provide newly built school classrooms with the necessary needed school benches, teachers’ writing tables and chairs even though they were not part of the building contract terms.”

Reiterating the commitment of the commission to the execution of people-oriented projects in the oil bearing communities across the state, Obiuwevbi advised the people maintain their peaceful disposition as exemplified by Ekrerhavwe community so as to attract more projects to their areas.
