WARRI—The promise by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State to provide employment opportunities, flourishing agriculture and agro-business sector, renewed urban infrastructure and enhanced security as well as consolidation of peace to bolster economic growth and development has been described by Okere-Urhobo Grassroots Political Forum, Warri, “as a reassurance of greater years ahead in Delta State.”
In a statement by the immediate past commissioner in-charge of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Mr. Matthew Opuoru, leader of Warri South Legislative Arm, Sunday Aguweye, a former member of Warri South Local Government Council Transition Committee, Mr. Alex Eda and Chairman of Okere-Urhobo Youths, Mr. Cyril Eboh, the forum felicitated with Governor Okowa, his deputy, Mr. Kingsley Otuaro, and the re-elected member of Delta State House of Assembly, Dennis Omovie, for their inauguration as well as Omimi Esquire on his appointment as political adviser to the governor.
They said: “The exemplary and invaluable experience” of the governor and his deputy would be brought to bear in the movement of Delta State to greater heights.
They noted that Okowa’s agenda encapsulated in the acronym, SMART, which lays emphasis on strategic wealth creation projects and provision of political and social harmony, agricultural reforms and accelerated industrialisation, relevant health and education policies as well as transformed environment through urban renewal, speak volume of an administration poised to annex the great potentials and resources in Delta State.
The forum assured Okowa of its readiness to collaborate with the state government to provide the needed development across the state.
