Abductors of 3 construction staff yet to contact families

UGHELLI—THREE weeks after a seven-man armed gang stormed the Patani-Oduophori Road project site in Patani, Patani Local Government Area of Delta State and abducted three workers of Okmas Nig. Ltd., the construction company in charge of the project, no contact has been made by their abductors to the company or their families.

The three staff are Sari Naser Karin and Tarek Maroun, both Syrians and a Nigerian identified as Sahara.

Speaking to Vanguard yesterday, Public Relations Manager of the company, Owhondah Ebere, said that they were yet to resume work at the project site till their colleagues, whose whereabouts are still unknown, are release.

He said: “Whether they are dead or alive, we do not know, as we are constantly interfacing with the state police command on the position of things. But as I speak with you, there has been no news.”

Contacted, the state Police Public Relation Officer, Mrs Celestina Kalu, said: “Nothing has been heard for now, but we are doing everything possible to rescue the victims and arrest the kidnappers.”
