ABEOKUTA—Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Suraju Adekumbi , yesterday, announced the dissolution of 7th state House of Assembly, saying, the House had passed 44 bills into laws within the last four legislative years.

The House which was inaugurated by the state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun on June 6, 2011 had both members of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, now All Progressives Congress, APC, which was in majority and the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

Adekumbi, who represents Yewa North constituency on the platform of the APC, presided over the valedictory plenary which had 19 lawmakers in attendance.

He said, despite the challenges and politicking, the assembly was able to pass 60 motions into resolutions.

The speaker, who lauded the executive arm of the government led by Governor Ibikunle Amosun for its support, disclosed that members of the assembly of the 7th legislature had executed 161 projects across the state.

He, however, announced that the 8th legislative house would be inaugurated next Monday by Governor Amosun.
