Platform Petroleum Limited has donated two Hilux patrol vans to Umutu and Obiaruku Divisions of the Nigerian Police in Delta State.

Speaking at the commissioning of the vans, the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Umutu Division, DSP Azuka Enuechie, described security job as a dangerous enterprise, which elicited high expectations in the form of protection of lives and property from the public.

According to him, the high expectations of the public makes the job more cumbersome.

While commending Platform Petroleum for the laudable steps, Enuechie called on corporate bodies and public spirited individuals to partner with the police to make their job easier.

He, however, reassured the people of Ukwuani Local Government Area of the preparedness of the Police to reduce crime in the area to the barest minimum.

On his part, Base Manager of Platform Petroleum Limited, Chief Austin Abaneme, noted that the enviable role of the Police was responsible for the hitch-free activities enjoyed by the company, adding that explained why it was inevitable to encourage them through the donation of the Hilux patrol vans.

Also, Group Managing Director of Platform Petroleum Limited, Mr. Emmanuel Konyebagu, said the cordial relationship existing between the Police and Platform Petroleum Limited dated back to time of inception of the company.

The donation, he said, was part of the company’s corporate social responsibilities aimed at impacting on communities within areas of their operations, noting that the police were continually in the front burner in matters of crime control and prevention and should be encouraged.

Responding, the Assistant Commissioner of Police and Area Commander, Delta North, ACP Atahiru Isah, who represented Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Alkali Baba Usman, showered praises on Platform Petroleum Limited and their partners for the donation, pointing out that mobility was one of the challenges facing the force among others.

He promised not to let the company down as the vehicles will be put to proper use to enhance the job of protecting lives and property of the citizenry.
