ABUJA—AS the race for the election of the Speaker, House of Representatives gathers momentum,  a member- elect for Egor/Ikpoba Okha Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Ehiozuwa Johnson Agbonayinma has warned against the domination of the north in sensitive positions in the country.

Speaking in an interview with Vanguard, Agbonayinma who was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party,  PDP, said that in line with the 1999 Constitution, federal character principle must be a guiding spirit for all as very high positions of leadership must not be concentrated in the north or any other part of the country to the detriment of others, adding that the speaker, must come from the south and not the north.

According to him, ‘’for equity and as someone from the South, the Minority leader, House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila should be supported for the position of the Speaker of the House.

He further said that Gbajabiamila was the best man for the position, adding that he was there for President Jonathan when the issue of acting President came up just as he supported the outgoing Speaker and Sokoto State- governor-elect, Aminu Tambuwal for the position.
