The Arewa community in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State has said the victory of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidates in the just-concluded general elections in the state, was victory for them as the community was glad to have been associated with PDP during the elections.

Alhaji Suleiman Jauru, leader (Sariki) of the Arewa community in Uvwie, said they were celebrating Okowa and other PDP candidates’ victories in Delta Central because the community gave its support to the party.

He said: “We are grateful to Allah that our support for Senator Okowa, Chief Ighoyota Amori and Chief Evelyn Oboro was not in vain.”

Alhaji Jauru, however, appealed to PDP elected candidates to keep to the promises made to the Arewa people, saying they desired appointment as Special Adviser on Non-Indigenes Affairs to the governor-elect and appointment of Arewa leader in Delta Central Senatorial District for proper interface with government.
