Emerhor faults Uduaghan, says South-south, South-east did not vote PDP

All Progressive Congress, APC, governorship candidate for Delta State in the April 11 election, Olorogun Otega Emerhor, has faulted Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan’s recent claim that the South-South and South-East geo-political zones voted 90 percent for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, while the rest of Nigeria voted for the APC.

Governor Uduaghan, at a lecture delivered at Trenchard Hall, University of Ibadan a few days ago, was reported in a national newspaper (not Vanguard) as claiming that the elections of March 28 and April 11 had revealed a deep division in the nation, which in his opinion had placed a huge burden on the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, and his team to begin a unification and healing process of the entire country.

In vehemently disagreeing with Uduaghan’s submissions, Emerhor pointed out that the people of the two zones were not even allowed to vote in the first place, having been criminally prevented from expressing their electoral preferences even though they had all along been yearning for the wind of change represented by APC and were poised to vote for the party but for the subjugation of their voting rights by PDP governments in the zones.

Insisting that far from voting PDP, the party systematically rigged both the national and state elections by confiscating result sheets while fabricating and arbitrarily writing results in its own favour.

Accusing the out-going Delta State governor of merely trying to rationalize electoral fraud, Emerhor accused Uduaghan of carefully avoiding the embarrassing fact that while the combined card reader records for Delta, Rivers and Akwa Ibom amounted to about 1.3 million votes, the PDP miraculously received a total of over 3 million votes in the three states.
