The Tarok ethnic tribe of Plateau state has presented to the state assembly a protest letter condemning last Saturday’s alleged extra judicial killing of its people in Wase Local Government Area of the state by some Military personnel to Lawmakers in the State House of Assembly.
The people in the letter presented yesterday in Jos by the Chairman, Ngwang Ishi O’Tarok, Northern zone, Mr. Nagor Ndam stressed the urgent need for the lawmakers to step up efforts to probe the wanton killings whose victims included women and children.
Receiving the letter on behalf of others, the Speaker of the state assembly, Rt. Hon. Titus Alams condemned the killings of innocent people, saying the House will work hand in hand with the National Assembly to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book.
He lamented that “major tribes in the state are under attacks which portend danger because after they will finish with major tribes, the minority tribes will also be threatened.”
