AS the agitation for the position of the speaker of the 8th National Assembly hots up, a Political pressure group, Credible Alternative Alliance (CAA) has throw its weight behind Hon Yakubu Dogara representing Dass/Bogoro/Tafawa Balewa at the House.

Addressing a press conference in Bauchi yesterday, the Zonal Public Relation Officer of the group, Sanusi Muhammad lamented the relegation of North East in certain critical areas of Governance in Nigeria, stressing that Hon Dogara should be elected as the speaker of the 8th Assembly.

He said: “ Available records show that from 1999 to date, the North East sub-region has been relegated to the back bench in certain critical areas of governance in Nigeria particularly in the National Assembly despite the region’s enormous contribution to the polity. “The highest position ever occupied by the sub-region in the National Assembly was that of deputy speaker of the House of Representatives which was not commensurate with the enormous contribution given by the sub-region.

Sanusi appealed to APC leadership at the National level and in Bauchi state to zone the position of the speakership to North East region because according to him “Hon Dogara is the man that the cap fits the most”
