OWERRI—One of the two brothers suspected to be the master-minds of the killing of the veterinary surgeon, Dr. Ugonna Omereonye, has been nabbed by the police.

Dr. Omereonye, who was the leader of the sacked beneficiaries of Chief Ikedi Ohakim’s 10,000-job scheme, was killed on the eve of the governorship election in Imo State by two armed men, who were members of Imo Security Network, ISN.

Vanguard gathered that while one of the suspects, whose name was given as Onyinyechi Okeke Nweremizu, is telling police all he knows about the surgeon’s death, his brother, Izuchukwu, who was also allegedly linked to the case, is believed to be on the run.

Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Andrew Enwerem, was contacted, he confirmed the arrest and detention of the suspect.
