ABUJA-MINISTER of Agriculture, Dr Akinwunmi Adesina Tuesday said as a minister he does not give waivers to importers and that it was a case of the hunter being hunted by those that should be hunted.

Adesina who appeared before the adhoc-committee on ‘Rice Imports Quota And Duty Payments’said “I was the first to raise the alarm via press release issued on January 2 alerting the nation that rice importers were not paying import duty”.

” As it is now, it is a situation where the hunter is being hunted as I clearly stated in the release that about N36billion is being owed by importers and those owing must pay back to the treasury”. Details soon.
