Abuja – The League Management Company (LMC) on Monday announced minor adjustments in the fixtures of the 2014/2015 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.

In a statement issued by by its Media Manager, Harry Iwuala, LMC said the adjustments were as a result of the full commencement of the 2015 Federation Cup competition.

“Following the release of draws for the Federation Cup Round of 64 and subsequent dates for other stages of the competition, some fixtures of the Glo Premier League have been adjusted.

“Also, dates have equally been announced for the outstanding fixtures involving the clubs which recently played and are still playing on the continent,’’ it quoted Salihu Abubakar, LMC’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), as saying.

The statement explained that the adjustments were inevitable as the league dates had already been fixed before the Federation Cup draws were held.

“Nigeria Football Association (NFA) programmes always take precedence over other football programmes and it is in deference to this code that the LMC has adjusted its league schedule,’’ Abubakar said.

The statement said postponed Match Day 3 fixture involving Shooting Stars and Kano Pillars in Ibadan has been slated for Wednesday.

“Dolphins FC and Warri Wolves will play on Thursday in Port Harcourt,’’ it said.

Warri Wolves FC are still involved in the CAF Confederation Cup and have arrears of three games in the league.

However, no changes have been made to the Match Day 8 fixtures which will still hold on Sunday.

But the Match Day 9 fixtures have been rescheduled for Wednesday, May 17 while Match Day 10 fixtures are to be played on Sunday, May 20.

The statement said further that the fixtures’ kick-off time still stood at 4 p.m.

The LMC however warned that there might still be a need for further adjustments in view of Warri Wolves’ involvement on the continent.

“We assure that all such changes will be made as the need arises and communicated accordingly,’’ the LMC COO said in the statement.
