AS part of efforts to turn Anambra State  into a model agricultural state, Governor Willie Obiano has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, with Lynden Integrated Farms Limited to establish    $61million commercial poultry farm in the state.

With equity ratio of 90 per cent for the investing company, six per cent for the state government and four per cent for the host community, the farm is expected to be operational in 15 months.

Speaking after signing the MoU in Awka, Governor Obiano, who  emphasised that agriculture remained the number one pillar in his economic agenda, said the proposed ultra-modern poultry farm, which would be located on seven hectares of land at Igbariam, would generate 250 jobs during construction, 200 permanent jobs  and 2,000 indirect jobs subsequently.
