The GAC brand of automobiles, distributed in Nigeria by CIG Motors has been described as high quality automobiles, which can stand the test of time anywhere in the world.

Kan Liu, Consul General, Chinese Embassy in Lagos made this known when he paid a visit to the CIG Motors office in Victoria Island, Lagos. He was received by the Executive Director CIG Motors, Mr George Ejike Francis, Administrative Director of CIG Motors, Mr Felix Lee, and GAC Regional Sales Manager, Africa International Business Division, Mr. Simon He.

According to the Consul General, Nigerians will enjoy the high technology and other feature offered by the GAC brand, which is among the leading auto brands in China. He explained that the brand is very known in China because of its quality and beautiful designs, adding that it will offer Nigeria a wide range of choice of cars to select from.

Kan, who commended the Nigerian government on its new auto policy, said though he does not know the details of the policy, it would help develop the Nigerian auto industry. China, he said, would like to be part of the development of the Nigerian auto industry by sharing its technology with the Nigerian people. He also advised CIG motors representative of GAC in Nigeria to be good ambassadors of China with its products and services. The envoy noted “CIG is very famous and well known in China with its excellent products and services. There is no doubt they will abide by the laws of the land. CIG will develop the Chinese spirit and get along well with Nigerians to develop the Nigerian auto sector.,”.

Also speaking on their brand, Mr. Ejike assured that CIG will make the GAC brand a household name in Nigeria by offering excellent after sales services to customers.

According to him, part of their plan to take the brand to the next level, is the setting up of an auto assembly plant in the country to produce both the saloon and sport utility vehicles models of GAC vehicles. CIG Motors market the GAC motor, Trumpchi GS5 Sport Utility Vehicles (SUV) which looks like the Lexus RX 350 SUV and the GA3 sport saloon car with outstanding design.

Also speaking at the occasion, Mr Lee said GAC position as a leading Chinese brand was demonstrated at the North America Auto show where the GAC was the only Chinese brand to take part in the show. He disclosed that the commendations at the show, where it competed with other world class products from Europe, Japan, Korea and America sent a signal to the world that GAC is the brand to watch.
