Pregnant woman arrested over human parts business in Ibadan

By Ola Ajayi

IBADAN—A 25-year-old pregnant woman, Mrs Saki Adediran, who allegedly specializes in selling human parts, was among scores of suspected dare-devil robbers, vandals and rapists paraded by Oyo State Police Command, yesterday.

Among the suspects was also a teenager, Ayobami Erinfolami, who confessed that he had been involved in a few armed robbery operations.

When the suspects were paraded by the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Mohammed Katsina, one of them, who identified himself as Taiwo Akinola, confessed that he was among the suspects that went to a cemetery on the outskirts of Apete in Ibadan to exhume dead bodies.

The suspect said he and his partners went to the cemetery in search of human gall.

He said: “A man told me to look for it. Another man agreed to take us to the place and promised to pay us good money.

“We went there around 9pm looking for any of the bodies that still had the gall intact. But we got none from the ones we exhumed.”

He, however, refused to disclose how many bodies he exhumed and what he intended to do with the human parts he got from the cemetery.

However, his explanation contradicted that of Adediran, who said the suspect had been buying charms from her and that he asked her to buy ‘biscuit’ (human head) from him, for which she usually paid N4,000.
