Nnewi — Anambra State chapter of Congress of Civil Society Groups has urged the Federal High Court sitting in Awka to make an order compelling the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to allow the use of Temporary Voter’s Card, TVC, in the March 28 and April general elections.
The group asked the court, presided over by Justice M.L. Abubakar, to declare that the temporary voter’s card should remain valid and be used in the elections scheduled for March 28 and the April 11, 2015,especially where the TVC holder had not got his/her permanent voter’s card.
Damian Ogudike,Godwin Edeh,Obum Ezeh and Peter Onyegaer, acting for themselves and on behalf of Congress of Civil Society Groups, had in their suit against the INEC at the Federal High Court sought for six reliefs among which is a declaration by INEC that only the permanent voter card should be used for the coming elections.
