TWO weeks to the March 28 presidential election, eligible voters in four local government areas of Edo State are yet to receive their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
This is came on the heels of a protest to INEC office in Benin, yesterday, by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives candidate for Egor/Ikpoba/Okha constituency, Mr. Ehiozuwa Agbonayinma, over what he described as the shoddy distribution of PVCs in the federal constituency.
Edo State INEC Administrative Secretary, Sir Brown Ulucha, named the affected local government areas as Owan West, Owan East, Ovia South West and Uhunmwode.
Ulucha, who disclosed this while receiving the PDP candidate, said the cards were yet to arrive from Abuja, adding that the state Resident Electoral Commissioner was already in the FCT because of the cards.
He further disclosed that he had issued seven administrative queries to staffers of Ikpoba-Okha INEC office, assuring that INEC would not play games.
According to him, it was the responsibility of INEC to ensure that the votes of Edo people count. He therefore, assured Agbonayinma that his complaint would be investigated.
