Edo State Social Democratic Party, SDP, has spoken on the controversy trailing the party’s candidature for Owan federal constituency, insisting that Mr Stephen Ekeide remains the party’s candidate for the seat in the forthcoming elections.
In a statement, Edo State Chairman of the party, Prince Frank Ukonga, confirmed that Ekeide emerged as its candidate during the party’s primaries and was formally presented with the party flag by its National Chairman, Chief Olu Falae, at a ceremony in Auchi and was so recognised by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
According to the statement, the candidate has not been substituted, and he has been the party’s candidate for the constituency from the onset.
