Oduah calls for interim administrator for Anambra FA

Oduah calls for interim administrator for Anambra FA

Warri Wolves take on two players during the Super Four in Ijebu Ode.

One time Vice Chairman of the Anambra State Football Association, Prince Isidore Oduah has called on the Nigeria Football Federation to institute an interim administration for the Anambra State FA as a stop-gap measure to allow for a credible election that will usher in a new board.

In a chat with Sports Vanguard, the veteran football administrator frowned at the decision by the outgoing chairman of the state FA Chief Mike Umeh to return as chairman, urging him to forget the ambition and give way for new faces to come on board.

“Umeh has been there for 15 years and has nothing to show for it. Why does he want to return?” Oduah asked.

Continuing, the state FA chief thanked the NFF for not recognising the elections organised by the Umeh-led faction of the Anambra FA and the Akwa Ibom State FA . “I congratulate the NFF for the bold step they have taken in respect of the two state FA elections.”

The right thing must be done.”

The Nigeria Football Federation had last week issued a statement denying that elections had been held in Anambra and Akwa Ibom states.

The situation in Anambra State was described as factionalisation which the NFF reasoned was not good enough for the sport.
