ABUJA—A socio-cultural group, the Ijaw Women Connect, IWC, has said that the inability of the country to attain her expectations was because it had failed to maximise the full potentials of women.
National President of IWC, Ms Rosemary Naingba, who made the remarks in Abuja shortly after the inauguration of the FCT chapter, however, urged women to discover themselves and live up to their responsibilities as nation and home builders.
She particularly called on Ijaw women to cultivate courage and display the great potentials endowed in them.
She noted that the essence of establishing the body was to create political awareness and make sure that women were actively involved in all sectors of the nation’s economy.
Naingba said that the organisation was conceived out of the burning desire of the Ijaw women to conquer their fears.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Ijaw Women Connect, IWC, Abuja Chapter, Embeleakpo Ogriki, has pledged to work in accordance with the rules and regulations of the organisation.
