WARRI — ITSEKIRI are not hiding their disaffection about the way President Goodluck Jonathan is allegedly reluctant in calling the Ijaw of Gbaramatu community to order in their inordinate ambition to claim what does not belong to them.

Speaking on behalf of Kpokpo community, host to the Deep Sea Port, Prince Nelson Kolo, said: “We are surprised that the President has not taken the courage to call the Ijaws of Gbaramatu to order over their illegal claim to Itsekiri land.

“We are surprised that, if we can give the Ijaw support during the ground-breaking ceremony of the National Maritime University and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA Dock Yard at Okerenkoko, which the Itsekiri attended and celebrated with the Ijaws, why can’t they reciprocate that gesture?

“We are still standing on our claim that Kpokpo is Itsekiri territory. The Ijaws came there as fishermen.”

Prince Kolo, an indigene of Kpokpo community, said that they reject any attachment of Gbaramatu to the project, appealing to the President to allow justice and equity to prevail.
