OSOGBO—Osun State government has expelled five students over the violent crises that rocked two secondary schools in Osogbo for several days.
Students of Osogbo High School and nearby Government Technical College, located along Osogbo-Iwo Road in Osogbo, had in February engaged each other in deadly clashes, forcing government to shut them indefinitely.
Government, according to a release by the Permanent Secretary, Osun State Ministry of Education, Mr. Lawrence Oyeniran, said it arrived at the decision after a careful consideration of the case.
The statement added that the students and their parents would sign undertakings and attend a meeting with the management of both schools on Monday, March 9 by 11am, and each parent would pay “a reparation fee” to be fixed by the Parents Teacher Association, P.T.A.
It disclosed that the schools would re-open for full academic work from Monday, March 9.
