LAGOS—The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, has urged motorists in the habit of obstructing free flow of traffic to exercise restraints by avoiding forming long queues on the main carriage road at petrol stations across state while trying to buy fuel due to scarcity of the Premium Motor Spirit, PMS.

LASTMA, said that the warning became necessary as the agency observed that such roads blockade have been constituting traffic gridlocks and causing untold hardship to other road users.

Speaking on the traffic gridlock being experienced on some roads in the state, the General Manager of LASTMA, Engr. Babatunde Edu, also urged the management of filling stations operators in the state to ensure that their customers keep their vehicles off the road and parked in a way that will not disrupt free flow of traffic on the roads.

According to him, right of way and consideration should be given at all times to other road users who are going about their normal businesses.

He advised vehicle owners on queue at filling stations to always put public interest above their individual interest.
