Enugu—The Igbo Youth Movement has advised the Igbo living in the northern parts of the country to comport themselves peacefully before, during and after the general elections.

The founder of the movement, Mr Elliot Uko, said at a seminar for the returnees from the north in Enugu on Tuesday that the call had become imperative because of the vulnerability of the Igbo in the area.

He advised them to avoid political arguments in the run up and aftermath of the March 28 presidential election.

Uko, who is also the leader of the South East Self Determination Coalition, urged the Igbo resident in the north to do all in their power to avoid bloodshed during and after the polls.

He lamented the loss of revenue by businesses in the north belonging to the Igbo due to the exodus of the people to the South East.
