A former militant leader, Mr Aboy, has petitioned the Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba, over an alleged threat to his life by a serving senator in Delta State.

He alleged that the senator was threatening his life with militants and thugs over what he described as failure of the said senator’s favoured aspirant to clinch the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, ticket for the National Assembly seat in Bomadi/Patani federal constituency in the PDP primaries.

In the two-page petition, Aboy said that during the PDP primaries for the House of Representatives, he (Aboy) worked against the favoured aspirant of the senator, hence the plot to take his life.

He explained: “At the end of the recent PDP primaries in Bomadi Local Government Area, the aspirant I supported came victorious. Since then the Senator has been after my life by trying to use policemen, militants and men of the Department of State Services to arrest me in the guise that I didn’t submit my arms when the amnesty was declared for former fighters.”
