PORT HARCOURT—RIVERS State Police Command has denied allegation by the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State that the Police had refused to provide security for the party to hold its governorship campaign rally in Okrika Local Government Area.

The governorship campaign organisation of the APC in Okrika had alleged that the Police denied them opportunity to hold a campaign rally in the area.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Ahmad Muhammad dismissed the allegation as untrue, expressing shock that the party made the allegation shortly after a meeting of political stakeholders in the council and the state Commissioner of Police on how to ensure peaceful electioneering activities in the area.
