Ado Ekiti—Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has condemned the recent beating of the correspondent of the Sun newspaper in the state, Mr. Wole Balogun, by soldiers while on his way to work.

In a statement, yesterday, by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Idowu Adelusi, in Ado Ekiti, Fayose described the attack as unwarranted, barbaric and an action not welcomed in a democratic setting and the peaceful situation that currently exists in Ekiti State.

The governor warned all the security agents operating in the state to be wary of actions that could paint the state in bad light in the eyes of the world, noting that whatever happened in the state always attracted public analysis.
