MAKURDI—THE Senate President, Senator David Mark has promised to intervene in the six months old industrial dispute between the Benue State government and striking lecturers of state-owned tertiary institutions.

Mark spoke yesterday in Oju and Obi Local Government Areas of the state, in the course of his campaign for re-election, adding that the resolution of the dispute would better serve the interest of youths in the state.

He said: “In view of the resolve of the present administration to ensure steady growth in the education sector to effectively empower our youths and prepare them for future responsibilities and leadership of our state and the country, I will not allow that dispute to linger.”

On the coming elections, Mark urged the people to vote President Goodluck Jonathan and all Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidates in the state.

“We have delivered on the promises we made to Nigerians, no matter what the opposition claims, the ruling PDP has ensured the stability of our democracy and also ensured the sustainable growth of our nation.”

In his speech, the Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro urged Nigerians to support and vote for the ruling party in the coming elections to “reciprocate the resounding accomplishments of the present administration in the country.”

“The combination of President Goodluck Jonathan and Senator David Mark has delivered democratic dividends to our people and the country. They both deserve our support, we cannot be fooled by the many lies of the opposition.” Moro said.
