Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mr. Tayo Oyetibo, has urged candidates in the forthcoming election to dwell on issues and not personality.

Oyetibo, who spoke in an interview with Vanguard, said: “One of the major issues is to get our candidates contesting in the election to dwell on issues than personality. And when they mention issues, it is not deep.

“They talk of fighting corruption, but they do not talk about how they intend to fight corruption. Some make general statements like ‘I will make sure that the economy improves’. How does he want to make the economy to improve from what it is now? You must go to particulars.”

He pointed out that in the days of UPN and NPN, candidates dwelt on issues and not personality.

“You will see the statistics that UPN will rule, they will look at how many schools are in the state, this is what we intend to do, this is how we want to finance it.”
