APC’ll rescue Delta from 16yrs of PDP misrule – Emerhor

By Emma Amaize & Theresa Ugbobu

AGBOR—ALL Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate in Delta State, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, said yesterday that the mission of APC in the state was to rescue Deltans from the 16 years of bad governance of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Emerhor, at the flag-off of APC’s governorship campaign for next month’s election at Agbor, Ika North-East Local Government Area, the home base of PDP governorship candidate, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, said his party’s choice of Agbor was because the people were receptive to change.

The APC candidate and party chieftains, including his running mate, T. Abanom from Ndokwa ethnic nationality, state chairman, Mr Jones Erue, former NUPENG Secretary General, Chief Frank Kokori, leader of the Elders’ Council, Senator Francis Okpozo, former Deputy Inspector General of Police, DIG Donald Ugboaja (rtd), stopped over at the palace of the Dein of Agbor Kingdom, Obi Keagborkuzi I, for royal blessings before storming the campaign ground.

Emerhor said: “We are here because we believe we have a better mission of improving Delta and Agbor Kingdom from the 16 years misrule by the PDP.”

He said that all over the country, it was obvious that APC stands for change and he and other well-meaning Deltans have taken up the challenge to effect change in the state, just as the party’s presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, who every Nigerian was clamouring for, was set to defeat PDP at the national level.

“We have resources that if well harnessed, Delta will be better. With the resources we have, Delta should have put poverty and unemployment behind and engaged the youths. In my first 100 days in office, I will put N10 billion in place to address the empowerment of youths, women and people in small-scale businesses.”
