BENIN—THE member representing Etsako federal constituency of Edo State in the House of Representatives, Mr. Abubakar Momoh and a member of the Edo State House of Assembly, Mr Rasaq Momoh, have dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the Social Democratic Party, SDP.

They dumped the PDP with their supporters in Auchi after accusing the leaders of the PDP in the state of skewing the party primaries in favour of their preferred candidates. Consequently, Abubakar Momoh has picked the senatorial ticket of the SDP for Edo North senatorial race.

He will face Chief Francis Alimekhena, the APC candidate and Mr. Paschal Ugbome, who defeated him in the PDP primaries.
