2015:Okowa promises to focus on peace, unity of Delta

GOVERNORSHIP candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Delta State for the February general election, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has promised to focus on peace ,unity and prosperity of the State .

Okowa who spoke during the finals of the Senator Okowa Unity Football Competition being sponsored by Mr Sebastian Okoh for the 26 wards in Ika federal constituency, which was held at Ogbe Modern Primary School, Umunede ,said this year would bring about refocusing of governance in the state if elected.

While also promising a responsive and responsible government that would create job opportunities,bring peace ,unity and development across the state , he said his experience in government and clear understanding of the state put him at advantage to tackle the challenges in the state. He said that his experience in government distinguished him from other contestants .

He said; “I represent the sum total of Delta state,” noting that “Deltans are one and that I am proud to be a Deltan”. He charged the people of the State to always emphasize “on the unity in us; the Delta in us and not ethnicity”.

He assured that if voted, his government would affect the lives of the people from day one, challenges of the office notwithstanding. On the football competition, Okowa said “grassroots football will be harnessed across the state to bring peace, unity and development and to demonstrate that Deltans are one people”.

He commended Mr Sebastian Okoh for the initiative, which according to him, has brought about unity, peace and love among the people of Ika federal constituency. Earlier in his address, Mr Okoh said the football competition was to galvanize grassroots support for Senator Okowa and to create an opportunity to celebrate his vision and commitments to prosperous Delta state.
