2-man burglary gang smashed in Ado Ekiti

Ado Ekiti—The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested two men for allegedly terrorizing a section of Ado Ekiti, the state capital, during the Christmas festive period.

The command equally arrested a middle aged tenant, Mr. Clement Abosede, for alleged conspiracy in setting the house of his landlord on fire.

Speaking with newsmen in Ado Ekiti yesterday, the Commissioner of Police, Taiwo Lakanu, said the arrest was made possible because of the tight security network put in place to ensure a crime-free situation at yuletide.

The suspects had allegedly laid siege to Olaoluwa GRA area, along Ado-Ilawe Road, broke into houses and carted away valuable materials.

Lakanu, who spoke through the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Victor Babayemi, said who are now cooling their feet in detention attacked and injured the victims with cutlasses, bottle and other dangerous weapons.

the Command was alerted by a resident of the area at about 10.10 pm following which he drafted the men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad to the scene to put the situation under control.
