As part of its corporate social responsibility, Access Bank Plc, has embarked on programmes aimed at empowering wives of Police Officers who died in active service to the bank.
The programmes include: financial support, award of educational grants to the families, refurbishing of the conference hall in the Police Special Fraud Unit, PSFU, empowerment/skill acquisition programme for wives of deceased police officers and female officers at Bar Beach police station and empowerment lecture series on Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) on education/literacy and health.
Speaking at the Corporate Head Office, Lagos, Chief Compliance Officer of the bank, Mr. Pattison Boleigh said.
“As a bank, we believe in delivering world class service embedded in speed, service and security but there is no way we can achieve security which is a very important part of the banks’ values without partnering with the Nigerian Police.
“We are collaborating with the Police Force that has provided security for us, and we have decided to empower wives of those who lost their lives while working with Access Bank. We will be donating the sum of fifty thousand naira to them amongst other empowerment programmes.
