ASABA—Concerned Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, members of Aniocha/Oshimili federal constituency have cried out to the national leadership of the party in Abuja over the alleged plans by some high ranking officers of the party to impose the incumbent House of Representatives member for Aniocha/Oshimili federal constituency, who also contested the recent governorship race in the state and lost to be given the ticket to represent them in 2015 at the National Assembly.
In a statement, Chief Clement Osafiana on behalf of the group, expressed dissatisfaction with the development, saying it was a thing of surprise that the PDP could allow any of its members who had already purchased nomination form, screened and cleared to contest a particular position to also be issued form for another political position.
Osiafiana, a stalwart of the party also noted that such an action was illegal and not in line with the guidelines of the PDP Constitution.
The group stated that during the last inconclusive election of the House of Representatives for Aniocha/Oshimili federal constituency in Asaba, there was a misconception of the rules and regulations as the electoral officer for the election, apart from starting late, did not begin the process of voting by calling the names of eligible delegates in alphabetical order, rather he started with Oshimili North and South which later resulted in Aniocha North and South delegates not being able to vote.
