ABUJA—National Working Committee, NWC, of the Progressive Peoples Alliance, PPA, yesterday extended a hand of fellowship to Governor Martins Elechi of Ebonyi State, imploring him to join the party.

The NWC of PPA through a statement issued by the party’s National chairman, Peter Ameh, said the party would welcome Governor Elechi and others who wished to join forces with it.

The party, which distanced itself from the statement by one Prince Samuel Udeogu, a member of the party, saying “Why we don’t want Gov Elechi”, said Udeogu could not speak for PPA.

According to NWC, “This unaltered, reckless and unauthorized statement from him offends Article 12 of the constitution of our great party and has been summoned to appear before the National Working Committee of the party on Monday, December 15th 2014 to come and prove why disciplinary action should not be taken against him.

According to the party, “Our party wants to assure all who wish to join forces with us that they are welcome as long as they respect the Party’s supremacy and key into our  resolve to ensure prosperity to the people.”
