ABEOKUTA—Crisis rocking, Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle-led administration has taken another twist as a daughter of first democratically elected governor in the state, Chief Olabisi Onabanjo, Olubukunola Onabanjo resigned her appointment as Chairman, Teaching Service Commission.

Onabanjo’s daughter in her resignation letter dated November 18, 2014 and addressed to the governor, explained that, she decided to quit Amosun’s government because she could not sacrifice her relationship with a former governor of the state, Aremo Segun Osoba for Amosun’s appointment.

Both Amosun and Osoba fell out following the internal wrangling within the All Progressives Congress in the state which prompted Osoba and his loyalists to dump the APC for Social Democratic Party.

Onabanjo’s resignation was part of the series of resignations tendered by some political appointees of the governor since the beginning of the crisis between Amosun and Osoba.

In her letter of resignation, a copy of which was obtained by Vanguard, Onabanjo said: “I wish to put the following on record for posterity.

“In spite of your Excellency’s accusation that I have a soft spot for Chief Olusegun Osoba, I wish to state that I have never undermined your office or the government of Ogun State.

“I enjoy a warm, cordial and healthy relationship as every member of my family does with Chief Olusegun Osoba. Your Excellency will recall that I explained to you that the relationship between the Onabanjos and Osobas dates back to over 40 years.

“I make no apology for this relationship. I am well heeled in my family’s tradition that politics is about progressives, egalitarian ideology.”
