BENIN—AS the 2015 general elections draw near, a group, Concerned Etsako People, has accused the Uzairu clan of Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State of appropriating all political positions in the area to itself at the expense of other clans in Edo North senatorial zone.

The group, in a statement in Benin by Mr. Bello Omoikhe, called on the leaders of the political parties in the area, especially, the All Progressives Congress, APC, to, in the spirit of equity, fairness and justice cede the position of the House of Representatives to Etsako Central Local Government Area if the party is to win future elections in the area.

He accused the Uzairue clan where Governor Adams Oshiomhole hails from of political dominance, adding that they should allow other clans to benefit from their domination and correct the lopsidedness and imbalance in elective positions in the area.

The group said the Uzairue people apart from producing the governor, also produced the former Secretary to the Edo State Government, Dr. Simon Imuekemhe, former Edo State Commissioner in the Federal Revenue Mobilization and Fiscal Commission, Chief Tom Uloko, Majority Leader in the Edo State House of Assembly, Mr Philip Shaibu and others in Edo State Oil and Gas Development Commission, State Independent Electoral Commission, Judicial Service Commission, State Teaching Service Commission.
