MINNA—Senator Bode Olajumoke has taken a swipe on the present situation in the country and said that the nation was sick in all spheres of life and needed immediate attention.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with our correspondent in Minna Niger state, Senator Olajumoke took an x-ray of the lifestyle of most Nigerians and said, “It is quite unfortunate that we (Nigerians) have to suffer and still suffering despite the gifts of life endowed on us by God.”

According to him, “By first of October this year, Nigeria will mark its fifty years of independence which is the Golden Jubilee but it is a pity that our lifestyle politically, educationally, economically, health wise and other spheres of life have not improved but rather suffered severe set back.”

Senator Olajumoke who was in Minna, Niger state to commiserate with former Military President, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida on the death of his wife, Maryam noted that our educational system instead of improving is deteriorating thereby forcing some Nigerians taking their children to neighboring countries “less endowed” than Nigeria for their education.

On health, Senator Olajumoke who is chairman, Senate Committee on Nigeria Nary also scored the country very low on this sector saying, “Much still needed to be done on Teaching Hospitals across the country because reports have indicated that none of them can diagnose or treat any serious ailment.
