As APC accuses Fayose of reversing Ekiti’s progress

Ado Ekiti —The Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Dr Adewale Omirin has been asked not to denigrate the office of the governor of the state due to his alleged ambition.

Omirin was also told to see himself as the Speaker of the state House of Assembly and not that of All Progressives Congress, APC.

Reacting to the speakers comment that “damning reports of alleged fraud were established at the hearings of the election petitions tribunal sitting in Abuja, and that Governor Ayodele Fayose refused to appear at the tribunal to defend the certificate forgery and perjury allegations made against him by the APC because he was afraid to enter the witness box for cross-examination,” Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka said it was irresponsible on the part of Hon. Omirin to have alluded that the governor was a perjurer and certificate forger.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti yesterday, Olayinka told the Speaker to stop nursing the ambition of becoming the acting governor of the state.

The governor’s aide said it was known to everyone in the State that the Speaker was assured of taking over from Fayemi as acting governor when his party was running from one court to the other, looking for a court order to stop Fayose’s inauguration.

“It is known to everyone in Ekiti that the Speaker even made preparations in readiness for his assumption of office as acting governor on October 16,” he said.

APC accuses Fayose of taking Ekiti backwards

Meantime, the Ekiti State chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, has accused Governor Ayo Fayose of spending his first month in office on frivolities and creation of bad blood. The party in a review of Governor Fayose’s first month in office said that the governor’s first month in office has turned into gloom, anger and frustrations for the people of the state.

Speaking through its publicity secretary, Taiwo Olatubosun, the state chapter cited the closure of the College of Agriculture, Isan, Federal College, Isan-Ekiti, the repainting of the Governor’s Office with the sum of N200 million, the sack of 800 street sweepers, eight permanent secretaries, dissolution of 35 development areas among others as instances of the reverses being wrought on the state by the new administration.
