Asaba — WIFE of a medical doctor was kidnapped yesterday morning at Oleh, Delta State, while she was on her way to drop her children in school.

She was identified as Mrs. Aluta, wife of Dr. Efe Aluta of General Hospital, Oleh.

Vanguard gathered that the kidnappers succeeded in smashing the windscreen of the car before dragging her to their get-away vehicle in the full glare of helpless members of the public.

Family sources hinted that the kidnappers, who took her to an unknown destination, have already established contact with them from their hideout, demanding an undisclosed sum as ransom.

Meanwhile, the state Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, Dr. Akpufuoma Pemu, has appealed to the kidnappers to release her unhurt.
State Police Public Rela-tions Officer, PPRO, Mr. Charles Muka, confirmed the story, saying “we are on top of it”.
