*A cultural performance by the National Troupe of Nigeria
As part of plans to encourage broad and effective stakeholders engagement in the implementation of the objectives, plans and programmes of the National Troupe of Nigeria (NTN), the leadership of the Troupe will on Thursday October 30 at the Banquet Hall of the National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos host a stakeholders forum.
The forum scheduled to begin at 10am, is the first since the formal establishment of the Troupe in 1991. According to a statement from the Public Relations Unit of the NTN, the stakeholders forum, which is expected to attract personalities with strong interest and experience relevant to the growth and development of the performing arts as well as patrons of the Troupe will feature a keynote speech and a command performance of ‘Ajoyo’, a dance drama created by the Core-Artiste of the Troupe.
The Keynote speech titled ‘The Performative Expression in a Conflict Environment’ is to be delivered by the President of the Society of Nigerian Theatre Artistes (SONTA) and Head of the Department of Theatre Arts of the University of Maiduguri Professor Sunday Enesi Ododo.
Meanwhile, the National Troupe is to perform at the Armed Forces Remembrance Day Banquet scheduled for November 4, 2014 at the Presidential Villa.
