Business and govern-ment leaders will today gather in Lagos to discuss Nigeria’s economic and business prospects at the 2010 CEO Agenda Nigeria forum.

The discussion of the event which is organised by Economist Conferences, a division of the United Kingdom-based Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) will focus on whether business sentiment is improving in Africa’s most populous economy, and how companies can negotiate both domestic challenges and the implications of the global slowdown.

According to a statement made available to vanguard and signed by Marianne Mazou, Director, Africa, Economist Conferences of the group, key speakers at the event will include senior officials from the Nigerian government, Lagos State and the Central Bank of Nigeria, as well as leading Nigerian and international executives from telecommunications, manufacturing, financial services, oil and gas, and other sectors, with the theme “Renewing Business Confidence”.

Apart from deliberation on what the global economic outlook means for Nigeria, the conference will address a number of domestic concerns. These include: how to improve Nigeria’s business environment; infrastructure development; power generation and transmission; reform of the financial services sector; the impact of security concerns on international investment; and the business climate in Lagos itself.
