THE World Bank and the National Bureau of Statistics have donated capacity building equipment worth millions of naira to Anambra State government to assist the state in strengthening its statistical system.

The items include motorcycles, laser Jet printers, desktop computers, computer tables, stabilizers, surge suppressors, photocopiers, UPS and spiral binders.

Also donated are overhead projector and screen, flip chart stand, magnetic board cleaners, ceramic solvent for board and air conditioners.

Anambra is one of the three states in the country selected for the project, which, according to the state commissioner for economic planning and budget, Prof Chinyere Okunna, was due to the state government’s high reckoning in data – based planning and implementation of development programmes.
