Benin City-FORMER chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, Chief Tony Anenih, yesterday, launched a fresh attack on Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, saying that all the administration has achieved in the last one year, two months is “ just planting of flowers at Ring Roadâ€.
Anenih, who spoke during the flagging off of the campaign for the House of Assembly re-run election in Etsako Central, said the governor has no plans of revamping the decayed infrastructure in the state and urged the people of Edo to ensure he (Oshiomhole) does not continue in office.
He used the opportunity to warn that the PDP would not tolerate any form of rigging in the forthcoming election, just as he expressed optimism that law enforcement agents would ensure that no form of manipulation is entertained.
His words: “ If you were a leader of an organisation for years, it is presumed that you know every nook and cranny of a country. You know their problems, and you now come back to be governor of Edo State, it is taking you almost 18 months to know what our problems are. The man should not be given a chance to continue. If it will take him twelve months, 18 months, two years to plant flowers at the Ring Road, then there is something seriously wrong. I do not want to talk much, a word is enough for the wiseâ€.
Anenih, who recalled recent Akoko Edo re-run election, disclosed that about 28 political thugs who were arrested during the poll are still in prison in Abuja, saying he warned earlier against thuggery in the election but the AC went ahead to “import thugs and arms for the electionâ€.
He added that “the so-called AC candidate” who said he won an election in Akoko Edo,” only yesterday I was told that the police has been instructed to arrest him with warrant of arrest and bring him to Abuja on Mondayâ€.
