Umuahia — Ahead of 2015 governorship election in Abia State, one of the leading aspirants, Dr. Uche Ogah, has said he would not respect the zoning formula adopted by the party, saying PDP had no belief in zoning, but capability and meritocracy.
According to him, zoning will only end up not giving the state the best hand to govern it and consolidate on the foundation laid by incumbent governor, Chief Theodore Orji.
Ogah, who spoke at the dedication of campaign office in Umuahia, weekend, said emphatically that the zoning was not binding on him as it was not part of the party’s policy.
He noted that both President Goodluck Jonathan and the party’s National Chairman, Adamu Ma’azu, had said that the party had no zoning policy, insisting that he was following the directive of the party at the national level.
