ABOUT fifteen people died yesterday in a boat mishap on the ever busy Bonny River.
Simeon Wilcox who spoke to newsmen on the incident said the mishap occurred barely three minutes after the boat took off at about 6.30 am in Bonny heading to Port Harcourt.
Saturday Vanguard gathered that there were about thirty five passengers in the boat when it capsized. The others managed to swim to safety.
According to an eye-witness, the passengers had their life vest on, adding that the incident was due to congestion in the boat. “The passengers who died were those who could not swim when the boat capsized.
At press time, community sources said the corpses of those that died had been deposited at the morgue in Bonny.
