ABUJA — The Acting Inspector-General of Police,  Suleiman Abba, has reaffirmed the support of the Nigeria Police to the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria, PCN, in its anti-counterfeiting enforcement measures.

Speaking when a delegation of the PCN, led by its Registrar, Elijah Mohammed, paid him a courtesy visit at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, the IGP noted the importance of preventing fake drugs’ proliferation in the country.

While noting that the Nigeria Police had an age-long mutually beneficial relationship with the PCN, Abba expressed the readiness of the Force to further strengthen its support to the council in the fight against drug abuse and adulteration.

Earlier, the Registrar of the Council stated that the essence of the visit was to further solicit the support and collaboration of the Nigeria Police in the enforcement of the rules and regulations guiding the operation of pharmaceutical premises and patent medicine vendors.
